This painting holds a special place in my heart, as it was created during a community art class I attended with both of my sisters over the course of four sessions. The subject of the painting is my dog, Scout, and it was based on a photo taken by my twin boys while they were interacting with Scout.

In the artwork, Scout’s charming personality is highlighted by the glasses perched on his nose, giving him a thoughtful and inquisitive look. The painting captures Scout’s unique markings, with patches of brown contrasting against his white fur. His nose is prominently featured, along with his soulful eyes that peek through the glasses, conveying a sense of warmth and intelligence.

The background is kept simple and dark, allowing Scout to be the focal point of the piece. I paid particular attention to the texture and shading to bring out the depth of his fur and the reflective quality of the glasses. This painting not only represents my beloved pet but also serves as a reminder of the enjoyable and creative time I spent with my sisters during those art classes. Moreover, it is a cherished memento of a special moment captured by my twin boys, making it even more meaningful.
