Adrift in the ocean of my emotion,
A vessel without a rudder at the waves’ whim.
Waves so high they seem to kiss the sky,
Drenching from the thrashing waves crashing over my vessel.
The vessel, battered with makeshift repairs,
Seaworthy, but just.
It was once a Ship of the Line,
A vessel that has navigated many seas.
Adrift in the ocean of existence,
A vessel without a rudder at the waves’ whim.
Waves rise and fall with their own existence,
Port to starboard, Fore to aft,
Lurking to capsize the ship at any moment,
Baring the seemingly soft hull,
A hull hardened by the sea of life.
Adrift in the sea of time,
An uncharted ship at the mercy of the waves.
Wave after wave out of control,
Scanning the receding changing panorama,
Seeing the crew sparkle and then vanish.
Time is lord of all I see,
My vessel at its mercy as well,
Dissolving as I cross the ocean,
Destined to become part of those lost by the oceans before me.
Lost in the oceans of life, emotion, and time,
A vessel without a rudder at the mercy of the oceans,
Changed forever.
